ABOUT ME
Writer . Director . Editor

My name is Cierra Johnson, and I am a writer, film director, and editor in New Orleans, Louisiana. I am a 2020 graduate of Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Digital Film-making, and a 2022 graduate with a Master of Science degree in Marketing and Communications. I consider myself a storyteller, regardless of the medium, and that passion has led me in many directions where I can write, shoot, edit, or otherwise create the stories that I would like to tell. I am always looking for opportunities to continue to do this.
My work includes directing narrative and documentary shorts, including my documentary "Looking at The Edges" and my narrative "The Last Golden Hour." I am a full-time Marketing and Communications professional as well as a freelance replay/camera operator for sport broadcasts for Tulane University, the University of New Orleans, the New Orleans Pelicans, and the New Orleans Saints. I am an Avid Media Composer Certified User (but my preferred editing software is Adobe Premiere Pro), and I have experience in creating visual effects in DaVinci Resolve.
My creative writing includes many short stories, unpublished novels, and two trilogies. I primarily write in the dystopian, sci-fi, or urban fantasy genres for a young adult audience. I enjoy exploring the different possibilities in worlds similar to our own in my work.
From creative writing to film projects to experimental videos just for fun, I enjoy the process of storytelling that all of these things require, and have gained the skills needed to accomplish these through my experiences. I am always looking for opportunities to continue to push the boundaries of what I can do.
